Riverside Capital, the independent property investor and asset manager has appointed Robert Hannington as a non-executive director to the group Board effective immediately, joining co-founders, Andy Taylor and Dominic Wright and recently appointed Rick Abbott. He will also chair the firm’s investment committee.
Mr Hannington is an industry veteran with more 35 years’ experience in property investment, corporate finance and fund management in the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific. He spent the majority of his career at Knight Frank in positions such as head of investment management and chairman of corporate finance, acting as fund manager for many property funds such as the John Lewis Pension Scheme and BBC Pensions Trust.
Abbott, who joined the Board in September 2012, has more than 30 years’ experience working across structured finance and capital markets at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, ABN AMRO and Knight Frank, the latter as managing partner of the firm’s private real estate business which established investment vehicles in the UK, Europe, Russia, India and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Andy Taylor, group executive chairman, Riverside Capital, welcomed Hannington’s appointment saying:
